Meet the owner and founder of the 518 Play Academy, Kim
518 Play Academy was started by Kim Narcavage because she wanted to build a dependable, welcoming place for families in our area. After juggling the everyday demands of parenting and work, Kim decided to create a space where kids could play, be curious, and parents could feel supported — a neighborhood spot that actually fits how families live.
From the very beginning, giving back has been part of how Kim runs the business. Within the first few months of opening, 518 Play Academy sponsored a local tee-ball team, supported the Amsterdam Free Library's Summer Reading Program, and opened the space for community events — including a family-focused Q&A with foster-care advocates.
Her story is one of rolling up her sleeves and building something that matters close to home. 518 Play Academy reflects Kim’s belief that when kids have room to play, explore, and imagine, it strengthens the whole community.

- The play equipment is for children ages 10 and under.
- When are you open?
- We are open Wednesday–Sunday, 10am - 6pm, and closed Monday and Tuesday. The admissions desk closes at 5pm.
- What should we bring?
- Bring socks for everyone. Socks are required for all guests; socks are also available for $2 if needed.
- Do we need to complete a waiver?
- All guests must sign a waiver. Complete the waiver online before checking in at the desk.
- How do I ask about a birthday party?
